Trans-Differentiation for Wiser Expectation

By Randy Gonzalez

As one admonished the other, go deeper inside, to a depth where reason has not sought to hide. Look behind the curtain of that fearful divide, a realm neither pundit nor politician can decide or explain. Whatever the refrain, the warnings have come; most will never make the trek. Yet, no doubt the classic tales have told, there are places to be explored where only the valiant dare go. It is the personal quest for freedom. A higher state of being into a transformation of liberated ascension requires extraordinary effort. Some, a few, those who are persistent will see the view.

Many will not answer the inner intuitive summing of their essential human nature. To accept the mission of taking on a profound transmission from self to selflessness, in the quest of the heroic adventure of self-evolution is frightening. Confronting the monsters purposed by the Id of our choices scares the many. Oh for the landed gentry, the inheritance of pretended greatness by anointed political or corporate dynasty, the lesser may never know the reach of those psychic passions.

Chasing the so-called "American dream", to achieve material control, treasures of possessed admiration, or power of exalted manipulations, achieves nothing of substantial gain when darkness ensues. Pompous expressions of self-validation, from the pitiful pleas of incessant "selfie" promotions, only speak to a deficit of personal dysfunction. Of which, it is sad to say that human nature remains sinister regardless of class or culture, status or standing, no matter the perception. To that, a consideration could be mournful in the presumption that after two hundred thousand years, much more is expected.

Swiftly in reckless defense, with much anxious pretense, others would argue gleefully at all the advancements by human hand. Laughing, giggling and smugly snubbing that which disagrees, the arrogance protrudes wickedly into the promulgations of divisive intolerance. Easy it is to criticize, more difficult and demanding are energetic efforts to think beyond a three dimensional illusion. For feasting, fun and frolic, as well as glitz, glamor and gore, the taste of immediate gratification surpasses the diligence of reason, rationality and wisdom. Creativity wanes miserably and suffers the insult of preferences to consumption instead of self-evolution to greater ascendency. For the aristocracy, the transition of the personal quest could be extraordinary, yet it is not.

For all the wealth, the power, techno advances, clever contrivances, presumed higher education, the control for resources, industrial output and the domination of a select elite, a conclusion might be drawn that all humanity's problems are solved. Instead, the human race rushes madly into the defeat of a calamitous dystopia. Not long after that, when societies collapse, extinction looms closer than ever before. For all the assumed "intelligence", stupidity reigns supreme. Over several hundred thousand years of "human" existence, not much has changed in terms of basic nature.

Along with a growing sense of entitlement, not much has altered the course of selfish behaviors in several millennia. The imbalance, between richness and poorness cascades to deeper chasms of dissenting class conflict, and potentially class warfare. Perhaps, there is the looming prospect of a second civil war, or even a serious confrontational counter-revolution. Some speak of a "Second American Revolution".

For those who might be inclined toward the precepts and principles of a "code of bushido", diligent efforts impose the sanction of developing a better version of oneself. From an ancient warrior's acceptance of obligation, the nobility of selflessness and forsaking materiality were not relegated to the past. A valiant persistence to change shuns the favors of gluttonous consumption and divisive decadence. Yet, in all likelihood, across the social spectrum, countering human extinction is now too late.

Regardless of lofty pontifications, and nebulous notions of psychobabble, empty talk with shallow accolades, societal regression devolves to lazy, foolish and irresponsible maladaptive intentions. Throughout the centuries, nothing has changed, except perhaps the creative inventiveness of a limited number. By purposeful creativity, a few have made things technologically better for a large number. By contrast, the vast majority, mundane, superficial and unimaginative, presuppose their entitlement to the self-indulgence of techno wizardry. By clever disguise of respectability, devious things are done.

However, in terms of a personal revolution psychically, thinking processes work diligently to change from one state to another, in order to achieve higher states of consciousness. In that laborious effort, a transforming person decides, in terms of materiality, what are basic needs for a reasonable level of survival? Assuming an American perspective, at the end of the day, how much does one need? Keeping in mind the so-called "American dream" is an illusion over which rationality must prevail.

If not, and the probability suggests darker themes, then in all likelihood the human species with become extinct. As to the "dream" of alleged success, wealth accumulation, winning the lottery, fame and fortune, glitz, glamor and gore, shortcomings and death are the reasonable certainty. Most will not make it to the deception of getting to the top of the pyramid. On the contrary, that is reserved for the select few. They are those with socio-economic and political connections beyond the reach of the average person.

Connectivity in the social strata is translated into material things of an extraordinary nature, as a very small percent of the population controls most of the resources. The wealthy in the up realms of decadent and excessive materiality, influence educational systems, politics and commerce. Careful observation and analysis of financial and political processes provides clues to the very essence of power and control throughout the diverse spheres of society. Meanwhile, the majority enjoys their slavery.

According to a recent financial article, supported by several surveys of the American public, many believe in a bottom-line of socio-economic subsistence. What is this mathematical equivalent? Such depends on a number of demographic, materialistic and communal factors, intricately connected to personal thinking processes. These notions presuppose an acceptance of the so-called "American dream", fame, fortune, feasting and fruition. However, while a majority of the population pursue a consumptive lifestyle, and claim entitlement to material goods and services, some rebel against that.

For those who do not accept conventional conformity, there are other options. Liberation is essential to approaching a concept of change, or suggested here, trans-differentiation. This is taken to mean going across and beyond and expanse of thinking that is different than mere normal kinds of thought processes. While some speak about levels of thinking, as in educational settings, theorists talk about "higher order" thinking in a pyramidal taxonomy. Of such claims, theories assert "levels" of thought.

But, where is the scientific validation that people actually think that way? What if in reality those notions are false and there are no levels or hierarchies? By contrast, trans-differentiation is a journey, a quest, to discover the complexity of one's personality and whether or not a different person self-evolves. It is the difficult challenge and laborious perseverance to become a better version of the original self. Nothing associated with persistent efforts toward transformation is easy. Such is very difficult.

Given the manner by which unevolving belief systems provide easy means to acquiesce toward good or bad choices, faulty decision-making defaults to less demanding comfort zones. This would apply to the safe, secure and consumptive mediocrity of post-modern cultures. Strenuous and tireless energies expended for personal development in the allegedly advanced realm, typically encounter frequent avoidance. Instead, "magical thinking", or "anti-thinking", where logical fallacies pervade, default options regress to uncreative and simplistic postures of conformity and non-progressive consensus.

A state-of-the-art environment, where comfortable conditions can be obtained by the majority, encouraged by massive marketing, excessive consumerism controlled by the few, the false security of the "American dream". At the swipe of a credit card, or touch of cell-phone app, "knowledge" can be easily obtained and manipulated as needed. Easily ignored is the deeper meaning or the most profound consequences of the comfort and ease by which seemingly intelligent people become numb to their surroundings.

Implications from diverse interactions ought to encourage serious intuitive assessment. Yet, as far as a dangerous majority or reckless minority are concerned, in-depth analysis, rigorous investigative research, and logical analytic inquiry are devoid in the social intercourse of serious discussion. Along with introspective meditation on the cause-effect reality of thinking and living, and that which matters beyond materiality, for most people such multidimensional applications need not be applied.

Given the decadence of over-consumption, grotesque consumerism, "credit-card" lifestyles, and the desire for instant gratification, too many choose to chase the illusions of magical thinking. Simplicity serves the myths to perpetrate rationalization. Choice is the key to understanding the "why" for the illusion that hope spring eternal. Self-serving acts of cognitive bias for the satiation of subjective validation, reflect the intentional motivation to achieve a heightened sense of self. And yet, for those not evolving or changing, "selfness" remains a fractured dysfunctional existence.

Whether by collective entanglements or familial engagements, personal thinking processes allow seduction to the susceptibility of "herded thinking". In turn, many let themselves lean toward maladaptive strategies. The need for attention as a lesser "self", or a "pseudo-self", regresses individuality to suffer the willful subjugation of others, ideologies, and myriad deceptions. Poor decision-making becomes repetitive.

Self-evolution is driven by constant creativity to achieve a more profound enlightened process of thinking and behaving. Hallmarks include healthy skepticism that depends on evidence, and realistic insight for cynicism as to human behavior. It is part of an understanding that the most dangerous species on the planet has the most evolved brain, yet fails to apply the highest potentiality. In all likelihood, another part is the realization that not much changes, because people do not want to change. Unfortunately, pseudoscience makes it easier to be a lesser intelligent species.

Reliance upon coldly unyielding facts, chilling perseverance to ensure scientific methodology, and icy resolve to safeguard proof beyond doubt, are replaced by emotional reactivity and feel good necessity. To act stupidly is more valued than reaching beyond the superficial. Feel good notions about shallow claims steeped in subjective validation override the efficacy of proving the truth of a matter of social discourse. Honest, straightforward, and brutally forthright discussions are increasingly rare.

Purposeful anti-intellectual interactivity usually devolves to a circus of condescending and mean spirited negativity. Often not asked is "what does the data show?" Or, "where is the evidence to prove that?" How do you know and what do you mean, followed by can you substantiate by scientific validation such a thing? The answer is no, most cannot perform such rudimentary tasks. For some adherents of the transformation process, part of the explanation for increasing ignorance can be found in the laziness of personal inspiration. Or, a failure to ensure productive creativity and inventiveness.

By not instigating oneself to pursue an evolving process of artisanship, in whatever framework that might be, the less there is vitality in the inspiration of motivating ideations. Selflessness in pursuit of personal liberation is another part of the transforming process. Regardless though, the superficiality of limited individuation, contrives myriad fallacies of inference that abound in every aspect of interactivity, from academia to news casting. And, "casting" is a good descriptor for "news reporting".

As such, mainstream "infotainment" is more like television variety shows, with an assortment of actors mainly selling products, with tiny info snippets in the stories. The superficiality and lack of analytical and logical processes of deduction regress to simplistic levels. Narcissistic juvenile antics portray a pretext to "informing" the public, but devolve to substandard levels of scholarly innovation.

American society exhibits extensive contrivances of less than wiser expectations to achieve the hallowed precepts for an enlightened culture. Studies show a multiplicity of factors suggesting the devolution in terms of a less intelligent population. Sixty years ago, as one magazine articles suggested, the U.S. was the richest, most envied and inventive country on the planet. In conjunction with a list of related ongoing research, the rest of the world generally agreed. Today, things have changed and not in a good way. While still economically powerful, and militarily the strongest, regressive tendencies toward stupidity resulted in increasingly weakened capabilities.

Grotesque levels of bloated consumption for the majority of people reaches idiotic levels. Meanwhile, growing segments of the population get by with less. The growing divide between rich and poor threatens the essential importance of equity, equal protection and dues process among the politically and financially burdened. In one aspect of the divisiveness, for the slavery of perpetual indebtedness, the very dark side of human nature hides behind the showmanship of mass marketing trickery and deceit.

Aside from the constant bombardment of hideous advertising and unsubstantiated conjecture from "infotainment", the depth of artistic creativity is woefully deficient. So called "popular" television shows, about which the "critics rave", condescend to the superficiality of childish emotionalism. Skillful storytelling, heroic character development, depth of meaning, and moral of the tale, are often overshadowed by emotional regurgitation of political correctness and intellectual deficiency.

In another manifestation of "evil", or the willful bad things people do, is the expression of illicit opportunistic means of socio-economic and political manipulation. This relates to the acquiescence by many to what might be called the "dumbing down" of the population in general. Why exert any effort to be smart when stupid works? Frequently, examples of immature thinking, or magical thinking, in news reporting, social media and movies, surfaces in egregious foolish childlike commentary.

In an online publication, a leading geneticist at a major U.S. university offers disappointing news. Such is the point of view of one researcher that suggests the human species is not advancing intellectually. Instead, one scientist says just the opposite is occurring. Rather than getting smarter, the broad spectrum of human beings are becoming less intelligent. This of course represents dangerous consequences.

From parable to paradox, the puzzling notion that humans may not be evolving at all, in spite of the few inventive ones who create amazing innovations. As such the dilemma is quite profound, in that storytelling projects a sense of hopeful learning from historic points of reference. Regardless of the older lessons long passed, contemporary issues wear a disguise of somehow being new and different. However, a strict observational assessment delineates to the general conclusion that nothing changed concerning human nature. On the contrary, people are as divisive and destructive as ever. An atmosphere of degenerating social negativity and magical thinking permeates social interaction.

Perhaps, the human race is devolving to a more regressive state. In modern times, adverse consequence from acts committed by humans suggest the irony of historical repetition. Redundant regurgitation in oppressive inflictions for power and control seem to have worsened. New "robber barons" replaced older ones. In addition, while a multiplicity of factors are at play, and human thinking is complicated, no single answer satisfies every question about human behavior to the exclusion of others. That is to suggest the notion as to who has the right answer about anything.

In what might be described as a decadent age of discontent, the same old issues of maladaptive human interactions persist. One writer points out the necessity to deconstruct what younger generations think they have learned, and reconstruct a learning process built upon the quest for sound knowledge and rational validation. Accordingly, the quest is for the undoing of "unreason", or emotional reactivity in the face of opposition. Instead, the investigation is on in the hunt for the evidence in substantiating the validity of any claim. Coherence of logic demands proof rather than political correctness, or the cowardice to hide behind the simplistic appeal to immature jargon.

As studies suggest continued decreases in I.Q. levels, faltering educational performances, widespread corporate and political corruption, along with a variety of related maladaptation, the human species may have run its course. For those inclined toward a biblical analogy or allegory, it may be the "end times". To counter any effective rebellious intentions to overthrow a collapsing status quo, gluttonous consumerism insulates and satiates the perpetuation of continued conformity. Weaker and less socially prepared generations stumble into a world filled with dangerous predators. Trans-differentiation to a wiser advanced life form may be the stuff of dreams.
