Regardless of your political perspectives, priorities, or desires, do you believe, the present tone, of the discourse, is helpful, to making America, live - up to its potential? How does all the inflammatory rhetoric, and level of vitriol, serve the needs, goals, and best - interests. of Americans, in a meaningful manner? We have often heard, the rhetoric, of making America great, again, but, in, and of, itself, this implies, the nation isn't already great! While making the nation, greater, should, and must be the true goal (rather than merely the rhetoric) of those we elect, the reality must be focused on all citizens, rather than any specific group! America was founded, based on certain rights and liberties, in - total, rather than selecting, and opting, only, for those one likes! Either we commit to the concept of liberty and justice, for all, or we abandon, what, truly, makes us great!
1. Polarize, instead of unify: Elected officials should seek to unify, and unite, and serve the best interests of all, not, merely, his personal supporters. Unfortunately, we are witnessing, a period, where the rhetoric and vitriol, articulated by President Donald Trump, seems to have, far more often, pitted American against American, rather than unifying, and seeming to provide meaningful leadership, and service, to all!
2. Making hate - groups, feel enabled: Whether it has been his purpose and desire, or not, the combination of the President's words, and use of social media, has seemed to encourage and enable certain hate groups! Statistics have indicated, certain hate - groups, have participated in a substantially, higher amount of hate - crimes, than usual! How does America benefit, when our devotion to our guaranteed freedoms, are threatened, and diminished?
3. Over - focus, on populism: Simply because certain supporters, perceive they would like things to be, as they think, they used - to, be, doesn't mean, our public officials, should proceed, accordingly! The danger of populism, often, is, historically, it has introduce tyrants, etc, into public leadership, and powerful positions. We need leaders, who listen, and learn, and focus on the bigger - picture, in order to proceed, in a relevant way, but, assuring it is also sustainable.
4. Fail to consider future/ sustainability: When President Trump articulates, continuously, about the need to de - regulate, and reduce regulations, we often, all suffer, because many of these, were implemented, to protect our citizens. This includes Consumer protections (financial), as well as neglecting environmental issues, and harming clean air and water, thus, threatening the health, and well - being, of future generations!
5. Threatens liberties, and freedoms: Protecting all of the guaranteed liberties and freedoms, which distinguish America, from elsewhere, is vital to the very nature, of our nation! When public officials articulate rhetoric, full of vitriol, it polarizes, rather than unites!
Wake up, America, and stand - up, to the rhetoric and vitriol. certain public officials, articulate, often! Will you commit, to all that means, and represents, and to essential responsibility, of making wiser, well - considered, decisions, when voting?
